The second half of 2023 solidified Asia’s position as the world’s thermos powerhouse, with the region accounting for over 60% of global market volume by Q4. China remained the epicenter: domestic sales grew 12% year-on-year, driven by urbanization and health consciousness, while exports to Europe and North America rose 18% as Chinese brands improved design aesthetics.
Japan’s premium segment also thrived: Thermos’ titanium alloy thermoses (priced at $80-$120) became status symbols in business circles, with 70% of sales coming from repeat customers. Meanwhile, Southeast Asia emerged as a high-potential market—Vietnamese and Indonesian consumers increased thermos purchases by 45%, fueled by rising disposable incomes and a growing preference for on-the-go drinks.
For Western brands, the challenge was clear: partnering with local distributors in Asia became essential to avoid missing out on the fastest-growing region.
