2024 Q2 saw smart thermoses transition from novelty to mainstream, driven by tech-savvy millennials and Gen Z. Key features included temperature displays, app-connected hydration tracking, and even USB-powered heating modules. Joyoung’s “smart health thermos” led the charge: its built-in tea infuser and app-generated wellness reports made it a hit among “wellness-focused consumers,” with sales surpassing 500,000 units in just 3 months.
Data privacy emerged as a concern, however. A March 2024 study found that 41% of U.S. consumers hesitated to buy smart thermoses due to worries about app data collection. Brands responded by launching “privacy-first” models with offline-only modes—by Q2, these variants accounted for 35% of smart thermos sales, balancing innovation with consumer trust.
